We are delighted to host the Swiss and European Double Axe Throwing Championship 2020 at Thun/Switzerland in collaboration with the Bull’s Eye event.
Please note the date from July 23-26, 2020 in your calendar.
At this date we will organize three competitions at the same time. The first part is the Swiss Championship for single throwers. The second part is the European Championship for single throwers and the third part is the team competition for 3 throwers in each team.
What is important to know:
Single thrower competition for Swiss Championship – Is only open for throwers, who live in Switzerland or are organized in a Swiss club
Single thrower competition for European Championship – is open for every thrower; every Swiss thrower is automatically registerd for the European championship
Registration fee and form
The registration fee for the single competition is 35.00 CHF and in addition 35.00 CHF for each team. For the payment you can use the link to our Eventbrite page.
In addition we would like to ask you to fill out the attached form.
Please note, the registration is open until end of March 2020.
Rules
During the qualification round we guarantee 24 throws for each thrower. Depending on the number of total throwers, we maybe can extend the number of throws to 36. After the qualification we will do the split in different categories men, women, juniors and the split for the Swiss championship and European championship.
Preliminary timetable
Thursday July 23, 2020: 4 pm to 8 pm: axe check and issuance of starting numbers
Friday July 24, 2020: as of 9 am : qualification round
Saturday July 25, 2020: as of 9 am: quarter and semi-final rounds
Sunday July 26, 2020: as of 9 am: final rounds and and award ceremony

Accomondation and airport
In the city of Thun you can find hotels and a camp site. Some links are listed on the webpage “Unterkünfte”. In addition we offer some special accomondations- like civil defence complex (Zivilschutzanlage) or boy scout camps (Pfadiheime). If you are interested to book a place in the civil defence complex please use the contact form on the webpage.
If you will arrive via airplane, you can choose between the international airports Basel (BSL) or Zurich (ZHR). The distance from Basel to Thun is around 130 km and from Zurich to Thun around 160 km.
